The Azulgrana player participated in Chile’s victory over Venezuela. Chile now sit atop of their 2014 Brazil World Cup qualifier group ahead of Messi‘s Argentina

Alexisnchez was another FC Barcelona player that featured in an international match this weekend. The Azulgrana was in Chile’s starting line-up against Venezuela for the 2014 Brazil World Cup qualifier match. Even though Sánchez didn’t score either of the two goals for his team, he was an active participant in Chile’s victory. Sánchez bore the brunt of much of Venezuela’s tough play, as the northern South American country’s team resorted to a rough-and-tumble style in an attempt to slow down Chile.

The match was decided in the final stretch of the match with a goal from Matías Fernández, on the 85th minute, and another from Charles Aránguiz, in stoppage time. Chile have 12 points in their qualifier group which allow the team to sit atop of the standings, moving Messi’s Argentina to second place.
