The FC Barcelona change strip for the 2012/13 season can now be purchased at any official point of sale in the world. July 12 is the date of the global launch of a unique, different and innovative design. It’s the most ecological uniform Nike has ever produced and includes characteristics designed to identify the club with its city. It was already on offer in the FC Barcelona store on the grounds of the Camp Nou.
Blend of colours
Nike has created a veritable array of bright colours, blending orange and yellow in a tribute to the art, culture, style and architecture of the city. The Barça colours appear on the nape of a classic design collar and orange sleeves. The characteristic Catalan flag and the FCB slogan “Més que un club” also appear on the new-look second strip.
Ecological shirt
Made of recycled polyester, a latest generation material, the new FC Barcelona jersey is, according to Nike, the most ecological it has ever produced. Each kit (shirt and shorts) is made using 13 recycled water bottles. This new production process implies an energy reduction of up to 30% in comparison with traditionally made polyester. Quite distinct from previous shirts, these are made using a 23% lighter material, a stronger textile, and including Dri-FIT technology to eliminate humidity and keep the players cool and dry. This advanced technologies will help them to feel much more comfortable and will have a positive effect on their performance.
