The first team trained this afternoon, at 19.00, with the same 20 footballers that featured in this morning’s training session
At 19.00, the team managed by Tito Vilanova completed the second training session of the day on Filed 2 of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The same footballers that trained this morning were all present this afternoon; 12 first-team players and the 8 Barça B players selected to train with the first team for the first week of the preseason – Oier, Sergi Gómez, Planas, Sergi Roberto, Ilie, Rafinha, Kiko Femenía and Lobato.
Thiago and Cuenca have yet to participate in the team’s preseason regiment as they’re both currently recovering from injury. However, Villa, Fontás and Alves did train with the team, albeit under medical supervision. One of the most notable aspects of this afternoon’s session was the heat.
Thursday, only one training session
On Thursday, for the first time since Barça kicked off the 2012/13 preseason, the team will hold only one training session (at 9.00). Javier Mascherano will hold a post-training press conference. On Friday, however, the team will return to the normal schedule of two training sessions per day – 9.00 and 19.00.
