The Barça midfielder revealed on Thursday that, “things are going really well” for him personally and for the team as a whole

Cesc Fabregas is a happy man. He’s featured in the starting line-up in the last three matches and feels that he’s getting back to his best form: “I’m feeling better and better. I’ve been at a high level ever since the start of the season and I’m hoping to maintain that for a long time. And the team is functioning well, which is what is most important”.

Two complete matches

Cesc has played the full 90 minutes of the last two matches but knows that he has received some criticism from certain quarters. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, he explained: “I know that Barça has a big impact and that there are a lot of people who have an opinion. Every time I play I do it with a smile and give everything I‘ve got”. Despite his recent lack of fortune in front of goal, he is confident he’ll soon return to scoring ways: “The main thing is to keep on getting chances to score”.

Upbeat despite the injuries

Asked about the injuries to key players such as Piqué and Puyol, Cesc assured reporters that the squad is staying positive: “They’re important. They’re key elements of the team. But we’ll overcome all these absences. Jordi [Alba] is fit again. We’ve got a competitive squad and young players ready for whatever is necessary. There are no complaints. We’ve got strength in depth in the squad”.
